Institutional guidelines for Grievance Redressal

Grievance Redressal Cell

The aim of the Grievance Redressal Cell of the College is to look into the grievances lodged by staff and students and resolve the same in a fair manner.

It offers a platform to share problems faced, review lacunae in the general functioning of the college and address the same thus improving the organizational climate of the college.

Grievances in this document refer to dissatisfaction expressed by students with respect to an aspect that affects their learning experience in the college.

General Guidelines:

  1. Staff and students may put forth their grievances in writing to the Principal in the proper format.
  2. Grievances could pertain to teaching- learning activities, infrastructure, evaluation, services offered in the college, ragging or harassment of any kind.
  3. The grievances shall be redressed depending on the nature of the grievance.
  4. Grievances of academic nature or pertaining to evaluation will be addressed by the faculty and the Examination In charge.
  5. Grievances related to infrastructure or services such as library will be addressed by the Principal and the concerned staff.
  6. Students may make use of the suggestion/complaints box.
  7. Grievances related to ragging or sexual harassment will be addressed by a committee. The committee may recommend action to be taken against the offender in such a case. The complainant will furnish all required evidences while putting forth his/her grievance.

Functions of the Grievance Redressal Committee

  1. The Grievance Redressal Committee will orient newly admitted students regarding the guidelines for redressal of grievances.
  2. The Committee will make sure that the process to register a grievance is safe, secure and sensitive. All information will be kept confidential.
  3. Provide assistance and redressal to the victims and take action against the harasser, if necessary
  4. Counseling is to be given if the aggrieved person feels the need for the same.
  5. Grievances will be addressed as soon as possible and the result will be communicated to the person raising the grievance.
  6. In case a special meeting is to be called for, this will be arranged as soon as possible.
  7. Report of Grievance Redressal Committee will be duly conveyed to the concerned after the decisions are taken.

Grievance Redressal Cell Composition

  • Principal as the Chairperson
  • Senior Faculty member as Secretary
  • Management Representative
  • Three members of teaching faculty
  • One member from Administrative staff
  • Chairpersons of the Student Council of F.Y.B.Ed and S.Y.B.Ed

The Cell members will meet as and when grievances are lodged. Decisions will be taken at the earliest after a sound discussion of the grievance.
